Chicago Bears: 3 rookies who could immensely alter training camp
By Ryan Heckman
Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears have plenty of impact rookies coming into training camp. Which ones could provide the biggest shift in their position groups?
We have finally reached that time, Chicago Bears fans. After about a month of not a whole lot going on in the realm of Bears football, we have made it to the opening week of 2018 training camp. With rookies reporting Monday and veterans a couple of days later, the team is getting ready for its first practice this coming Saturday.

The Bears have added a multitude of talent throughout this offseason. Whether it was via the NFL Draft or free agency, general manager Ryan Pace seems to be finally taking the reigns and has been given the freedom to make his decisions based purely on conviction — and the majority of those decisions should pay off, big time.
Like past drafts for Pace, this one featured a couple of picks fans were excited about. Others, though, some fans were a bit hesitant to get on board with. Maybe it’s Pace’s unique way of evaluating players coming out of smaller schools or simply taking a chance on a player based purely on upside, but fans have never been completely on board with his drafts.
This year, though, featured a few rookies who could come in and make a surprise impact rather quickly. There are three players, specifically, from this rookie class who I think could flip their position group on its head throughout training camp. It’s going to take phenomenal performances through camp, but here are a few rookies who could completely surprise fans in camp and take on an even bigger role than we originally thought.
