Chicago Bears should consider these Supplemental Draft prospects
Cornerback Sam Beal
This is the guy to watch for. Had Sam Beal declared for the draft last spring, there’s a good chance he was gone by Day 2.
This former two-star recruit player is very special. There is word going around that Beal will be taken in the supplemental draft. But the intriguing part is that he could go very early (extremely rare case). Certainly helps when everyone is interested in your services:
Strengths: As far as supplemental draft prospects go, Beal is amongst the best you’ll see. He is extremely talented. The ball skills are ever so prevalent (not for the two picks) given the 10 breakups last season. His size and length (6-feet-1) will certainly give any receiver fits in and out of the slot. His athleticism will give him every chance to make a play on the ball. In three seasons with the Broncos, he racked up 92 tackles with a total of 19 passes broken up. For what it’s worth, one of the interceptions came against New York Jet rookie quarterback Sam Darnold. A huge plus? He carries zero off-field baggage.

Weaknesses: This is a difficult prospect to find a ton of issues, which is a good start. Like most collegiate defensive backs, he will need to start packing muscle (weighs 185 pounds per ESPN) to fight possession receivers. But that’s something that will come in time. So if the one concern is fixable in due time, then there really isn’t much to worry about
Pro Comparison: Darius Slay
Supplemental Projection: Rounds 2-3
