Chicago Bulls: 3 reasons fans should worry about the NBA Draft
Bulls could swing and miss – big time
Perhaps the reason to be most concerned about the draft is the possibility that the Bulls pass up on the player who ends up as the best in this class. There are a few scenarios where that player falls to the Bulls, and they pass on him. In this year’s draft, that player is Mo Bamba.
Based on various reports, there are a few players that could unexpectedly fall to the Bulls. One such player is Wendell Carter, who is thought of as solid, but not spectacular. Other players like the aforementioned Trae Young and Michael Porter have been projected to go anywhere from two to eight.
Moreover, there is always a chance for a huge surprise at the top of the draft. A team could reach for a player they fall in love with in the pre-draft process. In any event, the point is the Bulls could find themselves in a position where both Bamba and another projected top-five player are available at No. 7.
If that were to happen, and the Bulls passed on Bamba, it could turn out to be a monumental mistake. Bamba is a special kind of talent who is just starting to come into his own. He sports a 7-foot-10 wingspan, ran a 3/4 court sprint in 3.04 seconds, is widely regarded as the best defensive player in this draft, and is developing a three-point shot. Imagine the matchup nightmares Bamba could present on both ends of the floor.
The more you watch this kid play, the more you come away with the feeling that he’s the best in the draft. And there’s a possibility that the Bulls pass on him because of an over-infatuation with Trae Young. Chew on that for a bit.

Bottom Line
Look, there is no need to sound the alarm just yet. Rumors leading up to the draft are just that — rumors. Much of them are smoke and mirrors designed at misdirecting other organizations. So take whatever is said with a grain of salt. However, based on the Bulls track record, there’s a decent chance fans are being set up for a giant disappointment.
