For fans of many teams, the NBA Draft is a reason for hope and optimism. However, Chicago Bulls fans have been burned in the past. Will history repeat itself?

We are now one week away from the 2018 NBA Draft, and the Chicago Bulls hold the No. 7 and No. 22 picks. For fans of most teams, it’s a night of hope and optimism. At least for the night, you forget about the prior season and focus on the shot to land that franchise-changing player.

However, if you are a Bulls fan, you are likely approaching the night with cautious optimism at best and downright terror at worst. This is a huge night, to say the least.

The team has two first-round picks. If they hit on both, the “rebuild” will be significantly accelerated. If they miss (especially with pick No. 7), it could set them back dramatically. Certainly, over the course of the last few weeks, fans’ emotions have run the gamut.

There have been reports linking the Bulls to just about every prospect in the top 15. Furthermore, fans seem to have pretty strong opinions this year about what the Bulls should do or not do.

Thankfully, and mercifully, this will all come to an end soon. And who knows? At the end of next week, the Bulls could be celebrating some future-altering moves from the front office. However, in advance of next week’s NBA Draft, we examine three reasons Bulls fans should be on edge.
