The Chicago Bulls hold the seven pick in next weeks NBA draft. If Michael Porter Jr is there they would be a fool to pass up on him.

The Chicago Bulls goal was to tank so badly that they would wind up with a top-five pick. They traded away Jimmy Butler for three young pieces. Kris Dunn who has shown promise as a two-way point guard, who can be a floor general on the offensive end and defend both guard spots.

Zach Lavine, coming off a torn ACL, showed promise that he has the capability to take to the next level. The gem of the trade might possibly be the seven-foot sharpshooter Lauri Markkanen. Most felt that the pick terrible considering the Bulls pass up on Dennis Smith Jr.

However, Markkanen proved to the doubters that not only is he’s not a bust, but he is a future all-star. The Bulls got some flack initially for the Butler trade, but it looks like the team could possibly have a legit young core to build. Now it’s time to add to add another young piece to that core via the NBA draft.

The Bulls could go a number ways with the No. 7 pick. The glaring need is a wing player to pair with Lavine, preferably a player that can create off the dribble and get his own shot. That player would take some scoring pressure off LaVine.

The Bulls also need another star that can take over games with his scoring ability on the perimeter. As far as I know, the only prospect in this draft that fits that description is Michael Porter Jr. There is a lot to like about his game and the untapped potential he has at the next level.
