14. Guard/Forward Zhaire Smith, Texas Tech

Zhaire Smith is a dangerous pick. He is very raw as an NBA prospect. There are doubts surrounding his ability to create his own shot, as he hasn’t proved he could do so in college on a regular basis. What we do know of Smith, offensively, is that he can score efficiently when given the opportunity. Smith finished last year shooting around 55 percent from the floor. He was a bit streaky from beyond the arc, but showed comfort from distance as well.

Oh, and he is widely regarded as the hands-down best dunker in this draft.

So, if the Bulls hold onto Zach LaVine and wish to pair him with another future NBA Dunk Contest winner (he will be, mark my words), Smith could be the guy if he is there at no. 22. At 6-foot-3, though, Smith looks too small to play anything but two guard, which might limit his upside as a wing. Many still believe he could go inside the top-20, though, because of his athleticism.

Due to Smith’s uncanny ability to make acrobatic feats look easy on the regular, he has the potential to be a great defender as well. The effort just needs to be there, which shouldn’t be a problem if he possesses the right attitude.
