Chicago Bulls: 5 potential replacements for Kris Dunn
By Ryan Heckman
A recent report has the Chicago Bulls unhappy with their current starting point guard Kris Dunn. Could they replace him with one of these options?
Count me as someone not surprised at this recent Chicago Bulls news bombshell. The team is reportedly unhappy with Kris Dunn and his habits thus far in the summer, per the Chicago Sun Times. So, here we are. The Bulls are back in the point guard market, apparently.
It isn’t that Dunn isn’t a good point guard, but for some reason the team isn’t happy with his work habits over the summer thus far. On one hand, it’s hard to believe because Dunn is typically known as one of the harder-working players on the team when it comes to putting time in the gym.
I, for one, would have guessed the Bulls’ front office simply isn’t sold on Dunn as the point guard of the future. Watching Dunn last year, he was as streaky as they come in terms of play. He had games where he looked borderline-brilliant in multiple phases, whether it be scoring, passing or defense.
Dunn is a great defender. Where he struggles is scoring consistently; decision making at times as well, too.
But, aside from why the team is unhappy with him at the moment, it is necessary to take a look at some realistic options for the team at the point guard position going forward — if they do indeed choose to move on from Dunn in one way or another. Here are five guys to keep in mind in the coming days, both via the draft and free agency.
