Survey Says…

If you simply buy into the hype and unrealistic comparisons to Steph Curry, it’s easy to fall in love with the idea of drafting Trae Young No. 7 overall. However, if you dive deeper into the numbers and objectively analyze who the better player for the Bulls would be, the answer is clear.

Not only does Mikal enter the NBA with a more complete skill set, but he’s someone who can stay on the floor the entire game. Young, especially in the beginning, would need to be brought along slowly. His defense makes him a tremendous liability on a team already allergic to the concept.

Additionally, Young plays a position that is not a need for the Bulls. And please spare me this ridiculous report from Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times that the Bulls are unhappy with Dunn’s work ethic. Dunn was the hardest worker on the team each of his four years at Providence College. He busted his tail to return from multiple shoulder injuries, despite potentially jeopardizing his NBA future. In addition, his first year in Minnesota he garnered praise from his teammates and Tom Thibodeau regarding his work ethic.  It’s not as if Thibodeau is easy to impress in that regard.

Yet all of a sudden, days after a report that the Bulls are interested in Trae Young, this story comes out?  Forgive me for calling a bluff. Perhaps this is a front office trying to pave the way for inevitably shoving a player it doesn’t need down the throats of its fan base. Either way, I’d personally file it under the big top that is the “GarPax” circus.
