Depth must be more than serviceable

Let me start with a quote from John Paxson, the Bulls’ fearless leader:

"“Cameron showed a competitiveness to him, an ability to push the ball probably better than any guard we’ve had in a while. And he showed a defensive edge I think will help us.”"

If you weren’t convinced the Bulls already had the worst front office in the entire NBA, that quote regarding backup point guard Cameron Payne should just about do it.

Just how long of a time period is “a while?” That’s my biggest question, here. It wasn’t too long ago that the Bulls had a guy by the name of Derrick Rose, who I remember was pretty familiar with pushing the ball up the floor.

But hey, maybe Paxson’s memory is failing him a little bit. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I am of the belief that Payne has absolutely no business being in the NBA. Watching him play over anyone on this roster is almost as bad as watching The Notebook when I have The Avengers readily available to watch instead.

I apologize to all of the Notebook fans out there. It really wasn’t that bad of a movie.

I digress.

Other than Payne, the Bulls have a serviceable Jerian Grant at the point as well. I’d much rather see Grant on the floor than Payne, but like the headline suggests, the Bulls need more than just “serviceable” depth at the point guard position.
