Chicago Bears: 5 biggest challenges facing Mitchell Trubisky
One Tough Schedule
The Bears will enter the 2018 season with the eighth most difficult strength of schedule based on their opponents’ 2017 record. The Bears opponents were a combined 133-123 for a .520 winning percentage.

The team begins their regular season on the road in primetime against the arch-rival Green Bay Packers. They return home in week two for a game against the always-tough Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
In addition, the Bears have some other very difficult matchups outside of their division. They have to take on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots (albeit at home) in week seven. If the team is looking for a litmus test to measure where they are at, this game will provide that opportunity.
Beyond these difficult matchups, the Bears will obviously play each division opponent twice. Each team should be much improved from last season. The Packers added some nice pieces on offense, to include Jimmy Graham, and get back a healthy Aaron Rodgers. The Vikings shored up an already elite defense by adding Sheldon Richardson. On offense, they upgraded at the quarterback position by signing Kirk Cousins in the offseason. The Lions, like the Bears, should be invigorated by a new, young, energetic head coach as well.

Trubisky and the rest of the offense will need to have their ducks in a row come week one. They face a tough early schedule as well as an early bye in week 5. It’s important for the team and their confidence to start off strong. A win against Green Bay to start the year would go a long way towards that cause.
