#2: Steele Walker

Round 2, Pick 46

Position: Outfielder

MLB Player Comparison: Andrew Benintendi

Steele Walker has a little more than just a cool name.

The Oklahoma outfielder has a sweet, powerful lefty stroke that enabled the junior to hit .352 with 13 home runs and 53 runs batted in for the Sooners this season.

Walker is short — not Nick Madrigal short but still just 5-foot-11 and weighs just 190 pounds.

The best example of a sweet-swinging, short lefty is Andrew Benintendi of the Boston Red Sox. Benintendi, who is 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, hit .380 with 19 home runs in his final season at the University of Arkansas.

Walker isn’t nearly the type of draft prospect that Benintendi was, as Benintendi was picked seventh-overall in the 2015 draft.

But Walker’s power stroke and size measure up nicely to that of Benintendi.

Lets hope that the White Sox got a “steele” in Walker.
