The 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft takes place on Monday, June 4th. The Chicago White Sox hold the fourth-overall pick in the first round.

Trust the process. Trust the prospects.

The ‘process’ will gain several more prospects next week, as the MLB Draft takes place on Monday, ending on Wednesday.

Picking fourth overall, the Chicago White Sox will have several options early on.

The White Sox have went with college bats early and often in recent memory, with their last two top picks being college position players.

The White Sox went with college bats with their first three picks last year, and could very well carry that trend over to this year, as this years draft is heavy on college talent.

Another way the White Sox could go is with a college arm, as there are a few elite options at the top of the draft in terms of college hurlers. We’ll get to that later.

As always, the White Sox could go with a prep prospect, but that hasn’t worked out too well for the Sox, as their last prep first rounder (Courtney Hawkins, 2012) was released this spring after barely scratching the surface at Double-A.

White Sox director of amateur scouting Nick Hostetler has said time and time again this week that the White Sox will draft whoever they feel is the best player available at pick number four.

No matter what position, no matter who is “filled in” to play in that position in the future, the White Sox will go with who they feel is the best talent on the board.

Regardless of who that is, one thing is for sure. This draft is crucial for the White Sox rebuild, and Rick Hahn and the guys need to continue to get this right.

Here are ten players that the White Sox will have on their radar come Monday.
