With the MLB Draft fast approaching, we take a look at the three most likely candidates for the Chicago White Sox.

On June 4, 2018, Major League Baseball will commence its annual amateur baseball draft. This year the Chicago White Sox own the fourth overall pick.

With such a high pick they will surely have a number of attractive options available.

The White Sox are not lacking young, controllable talent. In fact, if they have visions of competing for a Division crown soon, they will likely have to flip some of that talent for a few proven veterans to balance out the youth movement.

With that being said, having an over-abundance of young talent is never a bad thing. Just ask the Chicago Cubs who turned a young talented player into the final piece of a World Series run.

In addition, injuries or an inability to develop could lead to attrition within the minor league ranks. All of these are reasons to load up while you can.

So as the White Sox draft board takes shape, they will be looking to continue to stockpile assets. At this point, no one knows who will be the pick. However, as the draft quickly approaches, a few names are emerging as the favorites.
