Troy Brown Jr.

There are always those prospects in every draft that make you think a little when evaluating them. Troy Brown Jr. out of Oregon is one very, very intriguing kid. He reminds me somewhat of Michael Carter-Williams when he came out of Syracuse a few years back. Now, take that how you may, but Brown could be a unique player in the NBA.

Brown plays point guard but also can play the wing position. His ability to facilitate at 6-foot-7 is something special, but he’s also a solid scorer. Brown averaged over 11 points last year with the Ducks, but also brought down over six rebounds and dished out over three assists per game.

Giving the Bulls an advantage with his ability to play more of a “point forward” position, Brown would effectively be able to do a little more than LaVine could in terms of versatility. While LaVine is more of a scorer, Brown not only slashes to the rim but looks to get his teammates involved. Brown also projects as a better defender than LaVine is.

If the Bulls want an athlete in the latter portion of the first round, Brown could be hanging around there for the picking. His 7-foot wingspan is something to behold for a guy standing five inches shorter in height, giving him the ability to defend multiple positions. He is really a unique player and I think could end up being a steal in the late first round.
