3 players the Chicago Bulls could reach for at No. 7
The Chicago Bulls will look to land a playmaker with the seventh overall pick. While the obvious names have been discussed, Bulls fans could be in for a surprise.
The 2018 NBA Draft is one month away, and the Chicago Bulls own the seventh overall pick. Countless mock drafts have them selecting the usual suspects. But what if the Bulls look beyond the popular names? Alternatively, what if the popular names are gone by the time the Bulls are on the clock? If this is the case, they could reach a bit for a player that fits a need.

Let’s face the facts — if the Chicago Bulls were trying to “tank” then they failed miserably. If they were not trying to “tank” then they won just enough games to put a franchise type player just out of reach. But we’re not here to evaluate the merits of the Bulls’ tanking process — at least not today.
However, we are here to evaluate players the Bulls could select with the seventh overall pick. Cards on the table, I think this is a three-player draft. Deandre Ayton, Luka Doncic, and Marvin Bagley are the clear-cut cream of the crop. The reality is, absent a trade, the Bulls have absolutely no shot of landing one of these players.
Once you get past these three players, each subsequent player comes with some question marks. Perhaps a guy like Mo Bamba or Jaren Jackson, Jr. slides to number seven. However, it’s more likely they’ll be choosing from a group of Michael Porter, Jr., Wendell Carter, or Mikal Bridges. While I think Bridges would be the best option for the Bulls, none of them are slam dunks — no pun intended.
If the Bulls are not enamored with any of the players available, they could look to take a chance on a player a little further down the food chain. If they were so inclined, there are a few intriguing options with whom Bulls fans might want to become familiar.
