Point Guard Collin Sexton, Alabama

Do the Bulls even dare drafting a point guard after trading for Dunn a year ago? Granted, Dunn was a chip in the deal which featured LaVine, but the former Providence star showed flashes of what he could be in the future for the Bulls.

The truth is, if the Bulls view Collin Sexton as the best player on their board when they make their first pick, he’ll be a Bull. But, why?

Well, let’s take Dunn out of the equation. Before last season, Dunn was used to coming off the bench. The Bulls had one of the worst rosters in basketball, so seeing as he started for that type of team doesn’t say much.

Sexton is arguably the most complete point guard in this draft. Trae Young would have a big-time argument there, and it would be justified. But, Sexton is a bit more physical of a player and could translate a little better when it comes to defending in the NBA.

Looked at as just a bit stronger and more athletic as well, Sexton fits the mold as an NBA point guard in today’s game. He can score as well as defend. Young has a better shot from beyond the arc, but Sexton’s skillset is just as good, if not better, elsewhere.

Chicago could be looking point guard, surprisingly, if they don’t see Dunn as a starter. Some might not think Dunn is of starting quality just yet, and thus he would be a fantastic play off the bench. Do the Bulls risk leaving other talent on the board, taking Sexton? It wouldn’t be farfetched.
