3 reasons the Chicago Bulls should trade for Karl-Anthony Towns
By Ryan Heckman
Something is brewing between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Karl-Anthony Towns. The Chicago Bulls have several reasons to make a trade happen.
The Chicago Bulls are aware they likely won’t be able to swing for the fences in free agency this summer. It is obvious they are in rebuilding mode, and must concentrate on keeping their core intact to begin with. Then, followed by a solid NBA Draft showing, maybe the Bulls are a more attractive destination in the near future.
Or, instead of going by way of free agency, they could swing for the fences via trade.
Friday night, the NBA world was rocked by a report of Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns not necessarily in a good spot with his organization.
The Timberwolves finished last season with their first playoff berth in nearly a decade and a half, but all along, it didn’t feel right. There was reported tension between Andrew Wiggins and the team as well.
Could Towns be on the move?
If there ever was a time for the Bulls to swoop in and make an offer, now would be it. In fact, I wasn’t the only one to think of this immediately after seeing the news. Zach LaVine reacted immediately via Twitter, replying to the report with the “eyes” emoji. Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker retweeted LaVine’s reply with the same emoji, suggesting Towns in a Bulls uniform would be intriguing.
So, Towns to the Bulls might be an interesting thought. But, here are three very real reasons why the Bulls should make it happen.
