What will Mitchell Trubisky, Matt Nagy and the Chicago Bears offense show us in 2018 that we didn’t see last season?

Ladies and gentlemen, these aren’t going to be your dad’s Chicago Bears.

Yes, the defense should still be good; in fact, it’s more ready to be great right now than the offense. So that part shouldn’t worry you any. And with Roquan Smith leading the charge, they’re going to be as fast and aggressive as you can wish for.

But this offense you’re about to see? Now that’s something you or your dad haven’t seen by the shores of Lake Michigan before. Well, unless another team brought it to town, that is.

From the coaching staff to the personnel, Ryan Pace has made the big decision to move the Chicago Bears into the modern era offensively, bringing in Kansas Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy as head coach and surrounding his hand-picked quarterback Mitch Trubisky with new, young talent to grow with.

And though Jordan Howard will still pound away for 1,000 yards behind a solid offense line that just added second-round pick James Daniels, this team’s offensive identity might just undergo a radical change.

More than any Bears team before, the quarterback and his weapons will drive this team. And the guy calling the plays is going to put him in positions not just to succeed but to shine.

And in doing that, Nagy’s offensive philosophy will represent a huge departure from the way the Bears just ran things offensively under John Fox and under most head coaches and coordinators they’ve had since…ever.

Here are a few things the Chicago Bears will do differently under Nagy to build a more productive offense in 2018.
