“But, what about Dunn?”

If, for some reason, the possibility of signing Isaiah Thomas is on the table, wave goodbye to Dunn as your starter. Actually, I like Dunn a lot better off the bench. I still don’t see him as a long-term starting point guard in the league. Obviously, I hope he proves me wrong.

Thomas would be an electric signing for the Bulls. He’s a fantastic scorer and can get to the bucket as good as anybody his size, if not better than all of them.

Thomas is unrestricted this summer, so expect his agent to be busy. There are plenty of rumors out there at the moment, but for now, I’m ignoring them. The rumor mill is fun, but only when it gets a lot closer to free agency kicking off.

The 2016 season feels like forever ago. Remember when Thomas averaged nearly 29 points and six assists per game with the Boston Celtics? Since his career year, injuries have held him back and he played just a total of 32 games last year with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Thomas’ 2017 was somewhat of a blur. Who knows what happened in Cleveland. I’ll ignore last year completely if it means the Bulls somehow sign Thomas this summer. If Thomas knows that he finally has a home for several years, I think he reverts to the player he was just two short years ago.
