2018 Free Agency Status: Player Option

2017-2018 Highlights: 12.0 PPG, 15.2 RPG, 1.5 APG, 64.5 FG PCT

What an interesting front court possibility: DeAndre Jordan paired up with Markkanen. Even more interesting would be the moments when Portis comes off the bench to give the Bulls an aggressive, powerful and emotional pairing.

DeAndre Jordan has a player option, and if he does what I think he will do, he’ll be available. The Los Angeles Clippers have been home to Jordan for his entire NBA career. However, what they’ve become over the course of just a year is closing in on what they were a decade ago — laughable.

The Clippers have blown it all to pieces. They lost Chris Paul. They traded Blake Griffin. Could Jordan be the next guy to go? I see it happening.

The one thing I’ve never appreciated about Jordan is the fact that he has little-to-no offensive game. The field goal percentage is misleading, because he’s a guy who dunks the ball a lot. He’s fantastic when it comes to posterizing and catching alley-oops. I like that aspect. But, if he’s going to get paid like he’s an offensive juggernaut, that’s where I’d bow out.

Now, let’s look at the two big strengths here. He’s one of the best defenders in the post and he’s absolutely the best rebounder in the league. That would help, because the Bulls don’t have a dominant rebounder on the roster at the moment — hello, Mo Bamba?

Could Jordan come to Chicago? It could happen.
