You are probably thinking, “No way. Uh uh. Not happening. Not this guy. I don’t want to see him on the Bulls.”

I couldn’t fault you for that, for several reasons. First, DeMarcus Cousins is somewhat of a head case. He’s all about himself. He’s demanding. He’s arrogant.

He’s also coming off a major injury that caused him to miss a ton of time last season.

I get it.

But, Cousins is arguably the best center in the NBA when he’s healthy and motivated. I don’t need to go through the numbers, just look at them above. They are absolutely ridiculous. He’s a center — a center. The stat lines he can put up, and make it look easy while doing it, are incredible.

Would he be able to get locked-in and focused if in Chicago? He’d definitely have himself one heck of a market, and let’s be honest, he loves attention.

Cousins would be “the man” in Chicago. Would the Bulls be able to pay both he and Zach LaVine? That’s probably one of the biggest questions when it comes to Cousins, other than whether or not he’d play in Chicago. However, look at where he’s played thus far. None of the teams have been real, true contenders aside from this year’s New Orleans Pelicans — and they did it without him.

Cousins could be a dominant force in Chicago. He could be the number one option, offensively. He’d give the younger guys a little bit of experience to look to. Did I just call him a mentor? Goodness, no. But, could he add just a little bit of value when it comes to helping the young guys along? Absolutely.

Now, would Cousins choose Chicago? That’s one heck of a question. Although, it’s not out of the realm of possibility. The best part of Cousins’ outlook is that he is completely unrestricted, unlike a lot of other top names having player options or holding the “restricted” label.
