2017-2018 Highlights: 20.0 MPG, 8.6 PPG, 3.2 APG, 2.4 RPG, 41.4 PCT from beyond the arc
Fred Van Vleet is not a name that most fans will recognize. But, if you followed the Toronto Raptors and their stellar season this past year, he might sound familiar.
Van Vleet is a former Wichita State Shocker who is coming off just his second year as a pro. Giving the Raptors a good amount of minutes this past season, Van Vleet truly broke out in his sophomore year. He became a dependable scoring option for the Raptors.
Van Vleet is lethal from deep. The Bulls would gladly take his 41.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc to give them a spark off their bench. Van Vleet posted several games this past year with 4-plus three-pointers made. Anytime you can get double-digits off the bench, your team is in a much better spot.
The Bulls struggled to find their scoring spark off the bench in 2017-2018. Of course, Bobby Portis was that type of guy at times, but I’m talking about somebody in the back court. It seemed like Chicago used so many guys this year whom fans may have not been familiar with and the roster never looked consistent.
Van Vleet is also restricted, but he would be someone who I would be very high on if I’m Fred Hoiberg and the front office. His youth and overall game could bring a lot to this rotation.
