Chicago Bears: Post-NFL Draft offensive projections for 2018
By Ryan Heckman
Cody Parkey
Projections:
-
27-for-30 on field goal attempts
-
35-for-36 on extra points
Thank the good Lord for Cody Parkey. I mean, seriously, if I had to live through another game of embarrassment at the kicker position I might just lose it. Since Robbie Gould was let go, the Bears have struggled to find a replacement. Parkey is one of the more underrated signings in all of football this offseason, because if any team needed a kicker, it was the Bears.
Defensive scores
Projections:
-
2 interceptions returned for touchdowns
-
1 safety
While this might look low, I see the Bears as more of a shut-down defense than I do a defense that takes the ball away often. Eddie Jackson is going to give us some fantastic moments, and I’m sure Leonard Floyd will as well. But, when it comes to scoring touchdowns, I think two is a safe bet.
Also, a safety isn’t out of the question either. But, as a whole, this group should be more suited to stop than take away — and that’s fine by me.
Although, my hope is that I’m partially wrong. I’d love to see more defensive touchdowns. Who wouldn’t?

Special Teams scores
Projections:
-
3 punt returns for touchdowns
Because it seems like the NFL is trying hard to limit kickoff returns, I have the Bears pegged for three scores on punt returns. If Cohen is back there often, then certainly there could even be more.
