If you have followed our work here at Da Windy City, you know how sick we have become of the narrative that “the Bears don’t yet know what they have in Mitch Trubisky.” Anyone in the national media, or any media for that matter, who has given that statement has failed to watch the tape.
Trubisky gives Nagy exactly the kind of quarterback necessary for his offense. He is accurate, first and foremost. He takes care of the football. He’s mobile, yet knows when to use his legs and when not to. He’s also great when it matters most — on third down.
I have Trubisky topping 30 total touchdowns in 2018 and surprising any of the doubters, even dating back to when the Bears traded up to get him a year ago. Still, there are plenty of unbelievers who would love for the kid to fall flat on his face this year so they can say, “I told you so.”
Sadly for them, the way I see it, that scenario will be in reverse by this time next year.
