Kylie Fitts

Outside linebacker

Grade: A

The Bears finally addressed the need for a pass rusher, however, it came in the sixth round in Fitts. Of all the late round picks, this one I feel has the most promise. Fitts slid in the draft mainly because of health reasons, but if he would have stayed healthy, he likely would have gone a lot sooner than the sixth.

Fitts has the versatility to rush the passer with his hand in the dirt or standing up in a two-point stance. He has a good combination of size and speed that has good bend around the offensive tackle. Unlike Floyd in his first year, Fitts’ size is not going to be what holds him back.

At 6-foot-4, 263 pounds, Fitts has a very good size for an edge rusher and definitely has the body to add more strength and definition to it. Fitts has the quickness to beat opposing tackles off the edge and the closing speed to finish. He also can win with power, packing a power punch to joist offensive tackles back and knock them off balance.

Fitts still has room for improvement as a run blocker. However, on a team that is lacking pass rushing, Fitts has a chance to immediately make an impact as a situational pass rusher. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s Floyd’s running mate for years to come, provided he stays healthy.
