Chicago Bears: Initial undrafted free agent haul proves direction of team
By Ryan Heckman
Punter
Ryan Winslow, Pittsburgh
Before you think Pat O’Donnell has any competition whatsoever, think again. Ryan Winslow will merely be a camp body to potentially push O’Donnell just a little bit more and offer the team another punter who can do a few things differently.
Winslow doesn’t have anywhere near the leg strength of O’Donnell, but oddly enough, he can throw the ball. In fact, he’s thrown a touchdown pass in his career. He’s also completed a pass on another fake punt.
The fact that he doesn’t possess the strength necessary as a pro is ultimately going to be his demise, but he will give the Bears different looks in camp and will be of use over the summer.
Wrap-Up
Pace is not done adding talent, by any means. There are still players out there who will be getting calls from the Bears and I’m sure we will be updating you here at Da Windy City with any of the more intriguing names. So far, Pace has brought in a total of 14 UDFA prospects as we speak. If you would like, check out our friend Aaron Leming on Twitter to keep track of any new names added to the list.
