Cornerback

Kevin Toliver, LSU

Kevin Toliver was a five-star recruit at one point and had the football world put on notice. Throughout his collegiate career at LSU, Toliver struggled with a couple of injuries which kept him out of the starting spot on multiple occasions.

One of the other knocks on him is the fact that he has struck some as a little immature. Will he get his wakeup call with the Bears? I’d say Vic Fangio is the perfect coach to whip him into shape.

When on the field, though, Toliver was always the best player in the game in his mind. He’s known to be a bit cocky, but if he can back it up, that’s certainly OK. Toliver has great size at 6-foot-2 and is as physical as they come. He is great at ruining routes and plays well in press coverage.

Toliver is arguably the best plucking from all of the undrafted guys on Saturday night, as he was a projected fourth or fifth round pick. Toliver has a significant shot to not only make the team, but begin contributing early on.

Rashard Fant, Indiana

Rashard Fant is another guy who could have gone in the later rounds, but fell. Thankfully, he gets a shot with the Bears. Fant is a bit undersized at 5’10” but makes up for it with his aggression.

Over his last two seasons, Fant actually allowed a combined 36 percent completion rate according to NFL.com. That’s outstanding.

One of the things I like most about him is the ability for him to go up and contest jump balls at their highest point. His vertical certainly helps his lack of height.

Fant’s biggest knock is obviously his size. He has a tendency to get overpowered by bigger receivers and struggles to hold his own.
