Lorenzo Carter

Outside linebacker, Georgia

Carter underachieved statistically at Georgia. However, Georgia has historically moved around their linebackers for the greater good of their system. Look no further to the former Bulldog Floyd, where they lined him up at every single linebacker spot.

Carter tore up the combine this past February running 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash and tested very well throughout the rest of the drills. You would think he could have snuck into the first round, but the sub-par college production really hurt him. If the sack numbers were bumped up to close to double digits, he likely would have been a top-15 selection.

He’s very raw as a pass rusher as he relies too much on speed rushes. Carter can get washed away once linemen get their hands on him. However, the tools are there for Carter to be an edge rush terror. At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Carter comes into the league heavier than his former teammate Floyd.

Carter has good size, but yet still can add more weight and muscle to his frame. Early in his career, Carter can immediately contribute as a situational edge rusher. However, over time, Carter has the ceiling to be one of the game’s more talented edge rushers. Getting in the right system and around the right coaches are key for him though.
