The Chicago Bears made their first round selection in Georgia’s inside linebacker Roquan Smith with the eighth pick. As the first round came and went, there were a lot of interesting names that fell to the second round that will be available.

One key assumption with the Chicago Bears drafting of Roquan Smith told us is that general manager Ryan Pace is in win-now mode. If this was last year, we probably would have seen Pace opt for upside in Tremaine Edmunds over instant impact in Smith. Instead, he went with Smith, who is expected to be plugged in immediately as a starter next to Danny Trevathan.

While the Bears have an expected day-one starter in Smith, they will be looking for another prospect of that caliber in the second round. The Bears will likely keep the thought of best player available in mind, but they still have glaring needs at more than a few positions.

Edge rush depth is depleted and could see them double dipping at this position when all said is done. The Bears still need a viable number two wide receiver to make their offense even more potent. Cornerback can always stand to use more depth behind it and the offensive line could use another piece that can compete for a starting job in training camp. Here are the five best players available for the Bears in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
