If he’s there, grab Quenton Nelson.

There is rarely a sure-thing when it comes to the NFL Draft. You can have every analyst in the entire world clamoring about the talent of some kid coming out of college, and he can still end up being an average NFL player — or worse, a bust.

For Notre Dame guard Quenton Nelson, he’s in this boat at the moment. Every analyst is labeling him a future All-Pro, and some giving him a future Hall of Fame tag.

By now, you have heard tons on this guy. Nelson is a bully on the line. He’s one of the most physically-dominant offensive linemen to ever come out of college football. He tosses defensive linemen around like rag dolls.

Nelson is agile, possessing fantastic footwork to be able and get up into the second level with ease. While his run-blocking is all the hype right now, don’t forget the guy is almost as good in pass protection. It’s all of his physical traits that make him such a dominant lineman.

If Pace grabs Nelson, he immediately solidifies the interior of his line. Nelson helps every single player on offense. Most importantly, he helps the quarterback. Mitchell Trubisky’s well-being is of number one importance in this offense, and second is the ability to establish a run game.

Nelson helps you with every single aspect of your offense. Barring an unforeseen downfall in production or motivation out of Nelson, or an injury, he should go on to be a stud in the NFL. For anybody saying the Bears shouldn’t draft a guard this high, I’m sorry, but the kid is just too good to pass up.
