Top 10 Chicago Bulls of the 21st century
By Ryan Heckman
9. Carlos Boozer
Carlos Boozer was brought in on — at the time — a ridiculous contract that, for the most part, Bulls fans remember as a colossal waste of money. However, to be fair, what Boozer brought to the team offensively at times can’t be overlooked.
Yes, as shown above, Boozer was mostly good for useless noise and screaming, followed by typically embarrassing moments.
Again, I digress. Boozer was one of the better players the Bulls have had since the year 2000, regardless of blatant mishaps and yelling into no where.
Over his four years in Chicago, Boozer was relied upon to be one of the primary scorers. That was his job. For the most part, he succeeded in doing that. Boozer averaged 17.5, 15.0, 16.2 and 13.7 points per game in his four years with Chicago and shot over 45 percent from the field in each of those seasons.
Defensively, he was always a liability, but that’s not why he was brought to Chicago. After his successful stint with the Utah Jazz, Boozer was a top-tier free agent to land. And, if fans remember, he was what was left over following LeBron’s decision and the dominoes falling immediately after that.
If you couldn’t tell, this was a tough name to put on the list — but, he deserves to be up here.
