Chicago Bears: Final 7-round mock draft
Pre-Combine Mock Selection: Mike White, Quarterback, Western Kentucky
Pre-Free Agency Mock Selection: Brett Toth, Tackle, Army
Another boom-or-bust type player, but not nearly as polarizing as Arden Key. Desmond Harrison was once a former JUCO All-American. He transferred to the Unversity of Texas and played seven games in 2013.
Then, there were some issues.
He was suspended twice in 2014 and didn’t play a single snap. After that, he spent some time away from football before going to West Georgia last fall. He started nine games at left tackle and did pretty alright for himself.
You take one look at this guy and see impressive length and athleticism. The main concerns lie with the lack of any real, major experience. You look at his tape and you see him do all the right things and flash the talent, but then you see his competition level was rather weak.
This is a classic case of background checking a guy to make sure you know what you’re getting with him. However, it is also the classic case of finding a potential starter at the backend of the draft. For what it’s worth, Bobby Massie will be a free agent next spring.
Take that for what you will.
