Chicago Bears: Top 10 draft picks under Ryan Pace
By Ryan Heckman
Ryan Pace is entering his fourth draft with the Chicago Bears. His first three have been up and down, but he’s nailed a few picks for sure.
As we get ready to see the newest faces of the Chicago Bears next weekend, we need to remember that this might be a make-or-break draft for general manager Ryan Pace. He has done everything right thus far over the offseason, but the last three drafts have been up and down.
While he’s missed on a few players, Pace has also proven to be able to go deep into the draft and come away with very solid players. I would give him the benefit of the doubt in saying that, for the most part, his drafts have looked productive overall. It’s rare that you come away with multiple game-changing players within the same draft class, but Pace has done that.
Just last year, he made a polarizing move trading up one spot to grab his franchise quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky. In the same draft, he was able to snag safety Eddie Jackson and running back Tarik Cohen both in the fourth round. Where do these three rank in his overall best draft picks during his time with the Bears?
I can tell you one thing for sure, they belong on a list like this. The one thing you have to admire about Pace is that he tends to go against the grain at times. He has his strategy. He has his guys that he likes. No one will tell him differently. Pace sticks to the plan, and sometimes, it has paid off much more so than he could have ever thought it would.
Without further adieu, here are Pace’s top 10 picks from the last three years with the Bears.
