2018 NFL Draft: Who could Chicago Bears trade back for in the first round?
If the Chicago Bears trade back in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, who might they have their sights set on?
For months now, we’ve been talking about the Chicago Bears’ possibilities with the No. 8 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Without a doubt, some excellent NFL talent can be had at that draft position, especially if three or more quarterbacks are selected in the top 10.
At this time, only Josh Rosen (somehow…) is suspected for a draft-day slide. And if he were to last to the eighth pick in the draft, Ryan Pace will probably be dancing.
Why? Because this year would probably be a beautiful time for Pace to trade back and acquire more draft capital.
The Chicago Bears aren’t in the market for one for one of the top quarterbacks, having already traded up in 2017 to take Mitchell Trubisky.
Aside from Bradley Chubb, no edge rusher they could take in the first round is much of a “sure thing”. And I highly doubt they’ll trade up again in the first round of this draft with only six picks currently to their name.
And the only player the Bears would probably be over the moon about taking aside from Chubb—Quenton Nelson—may very well not be there at No. 8, especially if Rosen did fall.
With tons of depth at the cornerback position, linebacker and a few intriguing receivers later in the first round, trading back would make some sense for the Chicago Bears.
Here are a few players they could target.
