5. Defensive end Harold Landry, Boston College

Now, we get to the more realistic options for the Bears if they do stay put at no. 8. Harold Landry’s stock has risen quite a bit since the combine, and many Bears fans would love to see him in Chicago.

Landry possesses average size at 6-foot-3, but he is as fast as anybody off the ball. Watching his tape, you will notice that on every single down, he is the quicker man off the ball. He wins that battle nearly all game, every game. His burst is what makes him the prospect he is, among other things.

One of the other strengths of Landry’s is his athleticism to get underneath tackles. He is very flexible, which is something you don’t see as often at his position. He can tweak and twist his body in various ways to get under or around opposing blockers with ease.

The one thing Landry would have to work on as a pro is not being so one-dimensional. It’s great when you’re the best at what you do, but if what you do is only one move for the most part, you’ll find yourself in trouble later on down the line.

Landry is phenomenal at what he does, but he’ll need to pick up more diverse ways of getting to the quarterback if he’s going to succeed in the NFL. Not to take anything away from him, but he’ll have a little work to do as a rookie.
