One of my favorite wide receivers to watch over the course of the last couple seasons has been Courtland Sutton out of SMU. If you know me by now, you know that I am a sucker for those big-bodied receivers who boast a lot of strength. Sutton gives the Bears just that.

The Bears have met with Sutton twice now, both in a private meeting and at the NFL Combine. The best thing that can be said about Sutton is that he knows how to use what God has given him. His size and build are his biggest strengths, and he uses them both well.

Sutton has a knack for keeping his body in front of defensive backs when the ball is in the air, giving himself the best chance to make the grab. He is great on quick wide receiver screens because making the first tackler miss is not an issue.

I am starting to like the thought of the Bears drafting a bigger-bodied guy at this point, simply because Allen Robinson is not built that way, although his catch radius is ridiculous. Gabriel is more of the speed guy and of course doesn’t possess outlandish height. Sutton, though, does have the height and size that fans were familiar with seeing in Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall.
