Say hello to a Chicagoland favorite: Equanimeous St. Brown out of Notre Dame. Just looking at his build, there’s a lot to like. A 6-foot-5 towering wideout who ran a 4.48 40-yard dash at the combine? Are you kidding me?
He’s huge and he’s fast. Now, I can get behind a pick like this.
St. Brown’s stats won’t blow you away from this past season, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. Once again, you have to look at the scheme fit.
Nagy is notorious for playing guys all over the place. Last year, he used Tyreek Hill in a multitude of ways. He lined up his tight end, Travis Kelce, in the backfield at times as well as spread outside the hash marks. The man is smart, creative and loves to find ways to make defenses stop and think.
St. Brown fits the bill, as he is comfortable playing just about anywhere. He lined up outside as well as in the slot, and it was mainly his big body and footwork that made him dangerous. For a taller kid, he sure can fly. Watching his tape, he doesn’t look lightning fast. But, it’s his long arms and legs that trick the eye.
