Things have changed a bit since we released our Mock Draft 2.0 just a week ago, but the Chicago Bears could put themselves in a great position by following this plan.

The Chicago Bears made headlines this week after general manager Ryan Pace did not match the New Orleans Saints’ offer sheet to restricted free agent wideout Cameron Meredith. The deal was for two years and $10 million, which seemed reasonable. But, Pace declined.

Now that wide receiver is absolutely a draft need for the Bears, where does that leave them? Outside linebacker and guard are gigantic needs at this point, to go along with receiver. With only two picks in the top 100, how will they attack the draft?

In our latest mock, we have given the Buffalo Bills our No. 8 overall pick in exchange for their No. 12 selection in the first round. In addition, the Bears would receive a second-round pick from the Bills as well, this one coming at pick No. 56.

With the eighth-overall pick, the Bills would likely find a quarterback that had fallen outside of the top five, since four passers are likely to go in the top 10.

With three picks in the top 56, now, Pace is given some breathing room and can address the three biggest holes on the roster. Just how will those picks shake out, though? That’s where we come in.
