Chicago Bulls: An early look at 5 free agents to pursue
By Ryan Heckman
Power Forward Aaron Gordon, Orlando Magic
Age: 22
Experience: Four seasons
Type of free agent: Restricted
2017 averages: 17.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 steals in 33.3 minutes per game
Aaron Gordon has always been that freakishly athletic kid who oozes potential. Finally, this past season, we saw a glimpse of what he can really do. The guy is still just 22 years old and has tons of basketball ahead of him. Best of all, he’s remained fairly healthy over the last couple of seasons. That’s good news for the Bulls, who can’t afford another young player getting hit with injuries.
Gordon upped his scoring this year by five points, including proving he has developed a three-point shot that continues to take shape. With an athletic guy like Gordon, the Bulls could potentially play he and Markkanen at the four and five spots, respectively, but would likely toy around with matchups on the defensive side.
There would be no shortage of exciting moments between the two big men, however, as Gordon is known for his high-flying dunks and Markkanen can shoot lights out on any given night. With the restricted label on Gordon, my guess is that the Magic will do whatever they can to secure him.

As mentioned before, though, the Bulls likely won’t be able to bring in the superior names in free agency, so guys like Gordon and Capela may be as good as it gets. Would the Bulls pay up for Gordon? We’ll have to find out.
