Chicago Bears: Complete 7-round mock draft 2.0

I do love me some Isaac Yiadom, but I have a feeling that he’ll be gone before the Chicago Bears get to this point. If they want him, they might need to snap him up sooner.
Even Meeks is listed as being a guy who could go maybe in the fifth round, so they might need some luck for him to drop to the sixth.
If he did, I feel like the Bears would absolutely love a kid like this.
The son of former defensive back and defensive backs coach Ron Meeks (coincidentally the defensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts team that beat the Bears in Super Bowl XLI), the younger Meeks knows the game better than a lot of players his age. You know he’ll put in the classroom work and be prepared to play.
His technique is predictably solid, though sometimes he gambles and loses on occasion while trying to stay a step ahead. And his athleticism is perhaps better than you’d expect from a later-round corner.
That said, he doesn’t have all the physical ability that some of the top corners. In particular, he doesn’t have great speed, which makes it hard for him to stay in receivers’ pockets.
He also doesn’t have the kind of crazy length that Fangio often loves in his cornerbacks, though his explosiveness can make up for it.
But if you’re looking for smart players that can potentially develop from a special teams player to a solid backup/slot corner, Meeks would be a perfect addition to the Chicago Bears.
