Chicago Bears: Complete 7-round mock draft 2.0

The Bears aren’t necessarily sure if Jonathan Bullard or Roy Robertson-Harris will wind up being great options to start opposite Akiem Hicks on the defensive line, so RJ McIntosh makes some sense here.
McIntosh is a toss-up in terms of what round he will go in. Some say third, others say fourth. If he drops to the Bears here, which I think he may, he would be a great find for Vic Fangio’s group.
McIntosh has great speed for a guy on the line. He reminds me a lot of Leonard Floyd, but a bit bigger which makes sense since he is playing in a down stance instead of in the second level. At 6’4″ 286 pounds, his big knock is absolutely the fact that he can use some more weight. As you’ve heard me say before, that can be done — just ask Adam Shaheen.
I love that McIntosh plays really low. He beats his man by winning the battle that way. As you’ve probably heard offensive and defensive line coaches say everywhere, the lower man always wins — McIntosh understands this very well.
He is really instinctive when he feels a pass coming and will immediately get up to try and defend it. These are the kind of players the Bears need defensively — playmaking ballhawks that can take the ball away.
