. . DE/OLB. Ole Miss. Marquis Haynes. 4. player. 57

Pick made by Ryan Heckman @RyanHeckmanFS

Before you go any further, make sure you watch the above video on this young man. Marquis Haynes is the type of football player I want on my team.

This might be a bit of wishful thinking, but if Haynes drops to the fourth round, the Bears have to scoop him up. At the moment, he’s projected to go anywhere from the third to fourth rounds.

Haynes is a man of character, first. As you can tell by his coaches’ and teammates’ opinions on him, Haynes represents what a true man’s man is. He’s incredibly humble, hard-working and very generous with his time off the field.

“He does the right thing when nobody’s watching,” one teammate said of him.

Now, on the field, he is a monster. He played defensive end in college, but he has the potential to play edge in the pros, which is exactly where the Bears would use him. The Ole Miss all-time leader in sacks knows how to get himself a quarterback.

Haynes could come in right away and compete for the starting job with Aaron Lynch, and regardless of who won, he’d see the field plenty. A guy who can get to the quarterback with a sudden burst off the line of scrimmage deserves to be on the field — and he would be.

Consider the Bears linebacking corps a whole heck of a lot better after this year’s draft if they can get their hands on both Smith and Haynes.
