Chicago Bears: Complete 7-round mock draft 2.0

Roquan Smith is a fun prospect to think of in a Bears uniform. He has the ability, like Tremaine Edmunds, to play inside or outside. At the combine, we saw him gain some weight yet still run well. It seems as though he wants to continue filling out that frame of his while maintaining his fast-twitch characteristics, giving his future team the luxury of playing him at either spot.
Being able to pair up a premier prospect on the inside with Danny Trevathan would instantly make the starting linebacking core a very, very solid strength of the Bears. Smith is one of the better cover linebackers in this class and would be able to do virtually anything asked of him on the inside.
For a moment, do me a favor and imagine the quarterback below happens to be Aaron Rodgers.
The man needs no further explanation, but I’ll give you a bit more.
Another obvious benefit of drafting Smith gives Chicago the ability to use him in blitz scenarios. His speed allows him to get to the quarterback much faster than most, and with him continuing to add strength, Smith becomes a future nightmare for quarterbacks because of his versatility.
Many believe the Bears should take guard Quenton Nelson here at no. 8, but we believe their plan on the offensive line could be going in a different direction as you will soon find out.
