The Bears will add depth to their linebacker group in this month’s NFL Draft. On day two, the talent available could lead Ryan Pace to grab one of these guys.

Ryan Pace has made some bold moves in regards to his linebacking corps this year. The guy has a plan; you’ve got to give him credit for sticking to it.

Letting go of veterans like Jerrell Freeman, Pernell McPhee and Willie Young all in the same offseason is something not a lot of fans saw coming — maybe two of those guys, but not all three. But, here we sit just three weeks away from the 2018 NFL Draft, and linebacker is a core need for the Bears.

While many may believe the Bears could address this position in the first round at number eight overall, they could also opt for a stud up front on the offensive line. Quenton Nelson has been a name linked to the Bears as of late, and if he falls, my bet is that Pace takes him.

So, that would leave us looking at day two prospects to fill the voids left at the second level of the defense. Fortunately, there are a handful of guys who could fit well in Vic Fangio’s scheme.

One of the advantages for the Bears when it comes to the linebacker position is the presence of Fangio. The man is an elite coordinator, period. If Chicago were to nab any of the following five players on day two of the draft, Fangio would work his magic and likely turn them into a solid NFL starter.
