Chicago White Sox: Which prospects will be called up this season?
Ryan Cordell
Cordell is currently ranked as the 18th best prospect in the Chicago White Sox organization. He was acquired last July in the trade that sent pitcher Anthony Swarzak to the Milwaukee Brewers.
And while there are outfielders (other than Jimenez) in the organization that are ranked higher than Cordell, he may be the most ready to make the jump to the big leagues.

After finishing last season in AAA Colorado Springs by slashing .284/.349/.506, he impressed even more this spring and will likely see time with the White Sox this summer.
Engel had a great spring and won the job in center while Leury Garcia is the fourth outfielder, but Cordell is the next in line should anything happen. The fact that the team is currently carrying 13 pitchers will likely change at some point, which could open the door for Cordell.
Though there are those that believe Cordell should have made the club out of spring training.
It seems to be a safe bet that Cordell will find his way to the big league roster this season. The only other outfielder who might be an option would be Charlie Tilson.

Tilson had two at-bats when he was called up in 2016 before suffering a season-ending hamstring injury. He carries a minor league slash line of .293/.346/.392 over five seasons and has the talent to be a contributor at the big league level.
