Eloy Jimenez
There’s really no question about it, Eloy Jimenez is going to be a star. For the No. 4 prospect in MLB (No. 1 in organization), it’s just a matter of time.
By slashing .312/.379/.568 to go along with 19 HR and 65 RBI in three different stops in the minor leagues last season, Jimenez proved to be the guy that Rick Hahn thought he was getting when he sent Jose Quintana to the Chicago Cubs in return for him (and others) last July.

After showcasing his talents this spring (.571, 2 HR, 3 RBI in 7 AB), most fans are expecting to see Jimenez in the big leagues this year, though that’s not necessarily the plan.
GM Rick Hahn has stated that he doesn’t want to push the issue. Unless of course, Jimenez does that himself.
Rick Hahn made it clear that he would be really happy if Eloy Jimenez spent the entire season having success in AA, but admitted Eloy could push the issue.

Eloy Jimenez is mashing Dominican Winter League pitching into a fine paste and is going to make it very difficult for Rick Hahn to keep him in the minors. Rick Hahn knows this. He’s cool with it. https://t.co/m4lHoKveVY

The bottom line is this: unless something drastic happens and Jimenez forgets how to hit, expect to see the 21-year-old at 35th and Shields before the summer is over.
