Chicago Bears: 5 intriguing draft prospects team has met with
By Ryan Heckman
Josh Jackson, Cornerback, Iowa
If you have followed our work here at Da Windy City for even the last couple of months, you know that we love Josh Jackson. The corner out of Iowa presents so many desirable traits you want out of a cornerback.
Chicago met with Jackson at the combine, where he ran even better than expected for a guy his size. Everybody remembers what caught most of our attention last year, when Jackson came up with some eye-popping interceptions and even got comparisons to Odell Beckham Jr.’s one-handed catch.

The above pick was, of course, his third takeaway of the game against Ohio State. This ended up being Iowa’s biggest win of the year, and maybe of its last few seasons — thanks to some of the better cornerback play we watched in all of 2017.
Even with Kyle Fuller and Prince Amukamara, Jackson makes sense. I know, the Bears have several corners on the roster. But, if the opportunity presents itself to draft Jackson, maybe via trading back in the first or if he somehow falls to the early second, it’d be worth finding new homes for a corner or two lower on the depth chart.

Pace has definitely found time for his organization to meet with some of the more intriguing prospects in this draft, and all five of these guys boast plenty of potential within Chicago’s schemes. I can tell you one thing, coaching staff will come into play with a couple of these guys. If they get into the right environment, like Chicago, their potential is off the charts.
