Chicago Bears: 5 draft day trades that make sense
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears are in prime position for this year’s NFL Draft. At number eight, the trade possibilities are endless. Will they make a move?
Is it not one of the best feelings as a fan when your team has flexibility in the draft? The Chicago Bears have addressed some major positions via free agency. They are also headed into the 2018 NFL Draft having the most important position in football solidified with Mitchell Trubisky.
Because they are sitting at number eight overall, we know that there is a chance they could have a top-4 player fall in their lap due to the quarterback-needy teams picking above them. The other probable outcome later this month is that they haul in additional picks due to a team seeing one of their ideal prospects falling to eight and taking their chance via trade.
The Bears are in a great spot to be able to add draft picks. There are four quarterbacks who are likely to go in the top 15, with the stock of a fifth one continuing to rise. Most of the possible draft-day trades would end up being due to a team snagging a quarterback at number eight, and the Bears could come away with a profitable deal, if the other offseason trades are of any indication.
I take a look at five potential deals that could go down involving the Bears and their number eight overall pick, in no particular order of significance.
