The Chicago Cubs are just two years removed from their World Series run in 2016 and are even more poised to make a run in 2018.

It is finally that time again, everyone! Chicago Cubs baseball is officially back.

The Cubs will begin their road to October in South Beach where they open the season against the Miami Marlins on Thursday. It feels like so long ago since we last saw the Cubs, but alas, they are ready to roll once more.

In 2018, the Cubs present a whole lot of problems to opposing clubs. The large and ongoing conversation among Chicago media lately has been around whether or not this team is better than the 2016 roster that came home as world champions.

In short, yes, this team is absolutely better than they were two years ago. The team as a whole is more equipped, experienced and overall more talented than the championship team was just two short seasons ago.

Joe Maddon has several problems on his hands as he begins this new season, but none are problems which managers hate to have — the Cubs present a handful of fantastic dilemmas for a manager.

Some of these dilemmas are exactly why this team is so much better in 2018 and what will propel them to yet another World Series in the fall. Here are five reasons why the Cubbies will represent the National League in the 2018 World Series come October.
