4. Tarik Cohen – Trick play duties

After signing tight end Trey Burton, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bears may have given way to a new competition among he and another offensive weapon. Of course, I’m talking about Cohen.

Burton’s biggest moment from last season came in the Super Bowl after he tossed a touchdown pass to quarterback Nick Foles on what was dubbed the “Philly Special.” Apparently, Burton made a joke at one of his opening interviews regarding the Bears’ future trick plays, stating he would have to talk to Cohen about passing duties on trick plays.

Cohen saw a tweet highlighting the interview and quickly responded.

The goofy and outgoing personality of the second-year running back showed up in just three words, here. It should be fun to watch unfold as Matt Nagy implements a new and innovative offense during camp this summer.

3. Chase Daniel – The new old guy

After the Bears signed Chase Daniel, he immediately became the oldest player on the roster at 31 years old. While that doesn’t seem too high up in age, Chicago had been amidst a youth movement.

Prior to Daniel’s signing, the oldest player on the roster was none other than Kyle Long at just 29. Long took to Twitter to share his thoughts with his new teammate, saying he was thankful to be a “young gun” again. He tagged Daniel in the tweet, and the quarterback replied with a retweet.

It’s encouraging to see a sense of humor shared between these two already, because Long is undoubtedly one of the leaders of this team. Now, he’ll be sharing “old man status” with one more alongside him.
